Lake Waccamaw, NC Winter Festival

Lake Waccamaw will hold its annual Winter Festival Friday and Saturday, Dec. 3-4.

The event begins on Friday with the candle walk and lighting of the town Christmas tree. Participants are asked to meet at Town Hall at 5:30 p.m. Refreshments and entertainment by the Southeastern Community College choir will follow at the Depot Museum. For information about the Friday event, call the museum at 646-1992.

Saturday’s event will begin with a Christmas parade at 10:30 a.m. and continue with entertainment, kids’ inflatables, craft and food vendors into mid-afternoon. Potential vendors should contact Laura Newsome at 646-4057. Craft vendor spaces are free and are on a first come, first served basis. Church and community organizations are encouraged to promote their fundraising events.

Forms for parade units are available at Town Hall, or by calling 646-3700. Information needed for the form includes name, title, organization represented, description of unit, address and phone number.
